Live Product Roadmap
We build in public. Shipped items link to dated releases, current work is labeled as it lands, and planned items carry a horizon plus a confidence note instead of a promise.
Why Snipset wins next
Each planned horizon deepens one of these advantages. Rivals are compared feature by feature on the compare and performance pages.
Native Rust engine
Keystrokes travel through compiled native code with no webview or script bridge in the hot path. Installer size, engine timings, and idle footprint are re-measured on every release.
See measured numbers โOffline first, zero telemetry
Snippets live in a local SQLite store and the app works with no account. Anything that touches the network, like model downloads or update checks, is explicit.
Read the security model โOn-device AI
Ollama models, a Hugging Face model registry with streaming downloads, and automatic cleanup of old versions run on your machine, not on someone else's server.
Browse features โVault and MFA in one place
A TOTP authenticator with timer and one-tap OTP copy sits next to snippets and clipboard history, inside encrypted local stores.
Read the security model โVerifiable distribution
Signed Windows installers with published SHA-256 checksums, a clean VirusTotal record, and Scoop, Chocolatey, and Winget manifests generated from the release itself.

Each card names the release that delivered it. Open the changelog to read the full notes.
All-in-One Hub
Audio, pomodoro, snippets, tasks, journal, and settings consolidated into one hub, with a choice of default or installed Ollama models for Smart Shorthand.
On-device model registry
Streaming model downloads from Hugging Face through Ollama with progress and pre-checks, a registry with remote checks, and automatic cleanup of old versions.
MFA dashboard and Magic Menu OTP
Authenticator with search, live timer, and one-tap OTP copy in the Magic Menu, plus an MFA dashboard wired into statistics and gamification.
Live AI Journal and reflections
Scheduled journal generation with statistical visualizations and retroactive backfill, later joined by a daily context aggregator for AI reflections.
One-click install and verifiable artifacts
One-click web installer with a free distribution guide, generated Scoop, Chocolatey, and Winget manifests, plus automated SHA-256 checksums and a VirusTotal verification badge.
Measured performance page
An investor-grade performance page driven by release data: real installer sizes, reproducible engine micro-benchmarks, and a public methodology, republished every release.
Shipping now
Work landing in the current v0.6.x builds, tracked in the Unreleased changelog section.
Always-on AI Hub inventory
Every AI query carries a compact system inventory of clipboard items, tags, MFA accounts, and app version, so non-keyword questions stop getting sparse context. A similarity fallback routes near-miss queries to the right branch.
Untrusted Ollama URL warning
Settings shows a persistent warning under the Ollama URL field whenever the address is not local or private, powered by a dedicated trust check.
Planned horizons
Direction, not deadlines. Near means backed by code or infrastructure in this repo. Longer and exploratory means researched but not started.
Linux desktop and native hotkeys
Harden the Linux build already verified in CI and bring the low-latency keyboard interception engine to X11 and Wayland, closing the gap with Windows parity.
Rhai scripting expansion
More native helpers for the embedded Rhai engine, file system, HTTP fetch, and JSON parsing, so power users automate without leaving the app.
Backup and LAN sync hardening
Build on automatic rescue backups and local-network transfer with stronger integrity checks and restore paths, before any cloud sync exists.
Unified Credential Vault
Grow the MFA authenticator toward password management, secure notes, cards, and API keys under zero-knowledge defense in depth, following the written vault plan with zero breaking changes.
Android keyboard expansion
A custom input-method keyboard that brings snippet expansion to messaging and email apps, extending the Android companion that already manages snippets and clipboard.
Optional end-to-end encrypted sync
Zero-knowledge cloud sync for multi-workstation professionals, strictly opt-in, with the offline-first default untouched.
Team shared libraries
Shared snippet folders over local network drives or Git repositories, so engineering teams standardize replies and runbooks without a cloud account.
Automatic organization
Folder organization and semantic tag suggestions learned from snippet contents and usage habits, extending the on-device semantic search already shipped.
Exploratory items are researched directions. They ship only when the design and the evidence hold up.
